Justice League International #12 FINAL ISSUE… smeg

When DC rebooted with the New 52 , One of the books that really shocked me, out of the gate was Justice League International. I found myself enjoying this book way more than Justice League of America. I don’t know whats in the future for these characters , but I  hope something decent replaces the book.

Just One More Day in the Driver’s Seat by Nanci Rainey

Just One More Day in the Driver’s Seat by Nanci Rainey

Just One More Day in the Driver’s Seat:My Son’s Journey through DSRCT is a book by author Nanci Rainey. The book is based upon a journal that Nanci kept through her son’s Billy’s battle with a rare form of cancer, DSRCT (Desmoplastic small-round-cell tumor). The story is very powerful. The struggle of a battle against cancer & the love and faith the family had pulling together throughout the 23 month ordeal is awe inspiring. An absolute MUST READ.

Taken from the website (http://nancirainey.tateauthor.com/):

“Mom, do I have cancer?’

‘Well, that’s what they are trying to figure out. Some cancers are treatable with chemo or radiation, and then you’re fine. With other cancers, they might have to operate and remove the tumor, and that’s all. First, we have to find out what it is we are dealing with. It might not be a malignant tumor.’

Valve bringing Steam to Linux

Valve bringing Steam to Linux

According to Phoronix, Valve is planning to finally release its Steam Client and Source Engine to Linux. For those unfamiliar with the Steam Client, it is a system that allows you to buy video games, both new and old, and download them directly to your computer via the internet. It also gives you a method to communicate with your gaming peers and coordinate online multiplayer sessions for these games.

I am a long time subscriber to Steam. I have the client on my pc and my iPhone. The iPhone app allows me communication & purchase. There has always been a gap in the games available to the Linux platform. Some have used applications like Wine to get some games to play. This method is usually choppy and has a few glitches.

Valve is still doing some work to the Linux applications, but it will be well worth the wait. I know one gamer who goes by the handle of Tripped who will definitely jump on this upon release!

Happy gaming!

Dell XPS X13 Ultrabook Review

Dell XPS X13 Ultrabook Review

Reviewed by JPerez, 4/25/2012

When I first heard about the Ultrabooks, I have to admit that I was a bit sceptical. I bought into the Netbook craze only to be disappointed. In short, it was a tool to surf the web and nothing more. I feared that the Ultrabook was just a larger screened version of a netbook. As it turns out, I was wrong.

I was asked if I would like to test the Dell XPS X13 Ultrabook. I had been pricing them out and jumped at the opportunity for a hands on experience. The unit had already been through our Office Technologies group. It had our business essentials such as office application and VPN installed. To start things off I added a couple of additional browsers (Firefox & Chrome), dropbox, Nook application by Barnes & Noble, and finally my normal array of clean-up applications such as CCLeaner and SuperAntiSpyware.

I was quickly impressed by how much the Ultrabook was NOT a Netbook. I had no speed issues opening and editing any of my office files. The screen resolution was such that I had great images in my documents, PDF’s and when viewing websites. It is still a 13.3” screen. Anyone with hopes of seeing a full page even at the unit’s highest resolution will be disappointed. I did get enough of a page on screen though that it was not an issue for me.

Notes from the fasting: Did you here the thud?

Notes from the fasting: Did you here the thud?

April 3,2012, the second day was better than the first. I am mostly getting used to this juice fast.  However I am stupid. You see because life keeps on moving, and I seem to stay forever busy , life got in the way. So I could not juice after about 3. So while on the road I bought some fruit. IN the end it was not enough nutrients, especially to move 2 rooms of flooring into a car. I inevitably crashed when I got home. Waking up after midnight with hunger pains. Anyhoo the next day will be better

Byron Facebook Post

Does posting a nasty comment about somebody on Facebook constitute harassment? What about posting a more general statement that a person might believe is directed at them? A Cincinnati man recently ran up against this evolving area of the law when a judge ordered him to apologize to his estranged wife for a Facebook comment he posted late last year.

Last June, Mark Byron was found guilty of civil domestic violence against his estranged wife, Elizabeth, according to a report by a Cincinnati NBC affiliate. Last month, court records revealed that Byron posted the following comment on Facebook last November:…
